Flash Fiction: Taking a Chance

He had been studying her for days. Now was the time to strike. He only had a small window of time to try to pull it off. He walked across the room towards her. Once he was within reach, someone stepped in front of him to talk to her.

He froze where he was, unsure of what to do. Just when he had convinced himself out of his master plan, she was alone again. He approached.

“H-hey…want to dance?” he stuttered.

“No, thanks.” she looked at him with disgust.

He hung his head low as he walked away. (99 words)
