Flash Fiction – Sneaking Around

Sneaking Around

“How did you know?” I asked.

I thought I had been careful. I made sure to never do it in front of her. Staring awkwardly at me for what felt like an eternity, so many things came to mind. Would she understand? Could she forgive me for this? Finally she spoke.

“ Sarah thought it would be a laugh to go to a drag show..”

I swallowed hard and knew where this was going.

“Maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised when I saw you walking out of the bakery next door. You haven’t been losing any weight at the meetings.”
