Poem – Summer Boredom

Summer Boredom

There is a monster in my house

It comes in quiet as a mouse

I know it’s not my spouse

Soon I will be bitten

There is a monster in my hall

Coming for me at a crawl

It can pass through the wall

Soon I will be bitten

There is a monster in my room

It doesn’t come with a boom

I am beginning to fume

Soon I will be bitten

There is a monster in my heart

It wasn’t there at the start

It leaves a taste that is tart

Nothing left to be written
